Job summary

Confidential, based in Liverpool, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join its busy finance team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on processing supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy, resolving queries, and supporting the smooth operation of the purchase ledger.

The ideal candidate has a background in high-volume AP or Purchase Ledger, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Hybrid working and a salary of £26,000-£30,000 are offered.

• PO and non-PO invoice processing
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries
• Attention to detail and problem-solving
• Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders

• Knowledge of ERP systems

Responsibilities

• Processing high volumes of PO and non-PO invoices, ensuring accuracy and appropriate approvals.
• Reviewing invoices and supporting documentation ahead of payment.
• Liaising with internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and outstanding approvals.
• Building strong relationships with suppliers, handling queries and resolving payment issues.
• Reconciling supplier statements, investigating and correcting discrepancies.
• Monitoring and reducing aged items, including recovering outstanding supplier debit balances.
• Supporting improvements to invoice processing and payment performance.
• Ensuring compliance with internal financial controls, including SOX requirements.
• Processing invoices in line with relevant tax requirements and company procedures.
