SUEZ is seeking a Site Operations Supervisor to oversee daily HWRC site operations, reporting to the HWRC Manager and ensuring safety and environmental compliance with SUEZ policies. You will manage staffing, documentation, and data reporting to support efficient, safe, and compliant site performance.

The role emphasises leading by example to maximise recycling, maintaining regulatory compliance, and achieving weekly targets while controlling costs and resources.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate passion for recycling and strong communication skills.
  • Experience supervising and developing engaged teams to high standards.
  • Experience operating HWRCs and ensuring maximum recycling.
  • Possess a waste management qualification or the ability to attain one within 12 months.
  • Hold a valid driving licence.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily site operations ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Prioritise tasks and supplement staffing to meet operational needs.
  • Lead by example to maximise recycling and improve safety culture.
  • Deliver weekly targets defined by the HWRC Manager within budget.
  • Create and control operational documents and records.
  • Collate data and produce reports on site performance, incidents and training.
  • Deputise for HWRC Manager when required.

Job description

What will I be doing?
  • Reporting to the HWRC Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the daily running of the site operations ensuring full compliance on the site.
  • To maintain compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, instructions and in line with SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
  • To prioritise time to ensure that all aspects of the operation are supervised and if necessary supplement staffing levels on site if required.
  • To serve as an example and role model in the desire to maximise recycling and improve safety culture and operational efficiencies.
  • To ensure that weekly targets as defined by the HWRC Manager are delivered efficiently and within budget.
  • To create, manage and control relevant operational documents.
  • Ensure COTC requirements are met and records completed.
  • Assist in the completion of records, collate data and produce reports regarding site performance, complaints, accidents, incidents and training Maintaining a constant flow of information, trending performances and identifying future requirements.
  • Deputise for HWRC Manager as required, ensuring all their roles and responsibilities are covered.
What are the requirements?
  • You must be able to demonstrate a passion for recycling coupled with strong communication skills.
  • You will be able to bring your experience of supervising and developing engaged teams to meet very high operational standards to the role.
  • Experience in the operation of HWRCs and all associated requirements to ensure maximum recycling.
  • Appropriate waste management qualification to suit permit requirements or the ability to achieve this within 12 months.
  • Possess a valid driving licence.
  • Knowledgeable on safety and environmental policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Have an understanding of Key Performance Indicators.
