Job summary
SSEN Transmission is seeking an Assistant Electrical Project Engineer to join the HVDC team. Base location Aberdeen or Inverness with flexible working options and a permanent, full-time contract.
You’ll support projects for Net Zero and progress toward a Project Engineer role, with a salary ranging from £44,000 to £52,000 plus a car/cash allowance and annual bonus. As part of the Pathway to 2030 programme, you’ll provide technical reviews, site support during construction, and governance, while
Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent with UK construction experience.
- Experience in Electrical Project Engineering; HVDC/Power experience preferred but transferable welcomed.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, specifications, and CDM Regulations; proactive safety-focused design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
- Willingness to collaborate across engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Provide electrical engineering support to the project, reviewing supplier documentation and engaging with suppliers.
- Provide site support during construction, including site supervision, resolving technical queries and closing out actions.
- Support the engineering team to resolve technical issues and undertake engineering governance.
- Apply CDM Regulations in design, supporting safe, buildable solutions and develop scopes of work and detailed specifications.
