Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a senior Plants Project Manager in Glasgow to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across Civil, Electrical, and Plant disciplines for HVDC converter station projects. You will drive execution strategies from concept to handover, manage scope, budget, risks, and interfaces with customers and partners, ensuring safe, compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Proven PM experience delivering HVDC, HV/MV substation, transmission, or large-scale power infra projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across Civil, Structural, Electrical, Electromechanical, and Plant Engineering.
• Knowledge of EPC/EPCM delivery, project controls, budgeting, forecasting, risk and change control.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multidisciplinary Plants & Civil engineering teams delivering HVDC converter station projects.
• Develop and implement execution strategies across Plant Design, Station Auxiliary Power, Electromechanical, and Civil scopes.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and change control to meet objectives.
• Coordinate across engineering disciplines for efficient substation delivery, including interfaces with customers and subcontractors.
• Lead technical reviews to ensure deliverables meet specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with Plants Lead Engineer, Project Engineering Manager, and external stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.
• Monitor progress and report performance, risks, and commercial impacts to stakeholders.
• Manage critical technical and contractual interfaces with customers, suppliers, and partners.
• Support tendering with execution strategies, schedules, cost estimates, and risk assessments.
