Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Team Leader in HVDC Control and Protection Engineering UK-based with responsibility for guiding a team of specialists in designing and delivering comprehensive control and protection solutions for wind farm grid connections and interconnectors.

You will oversee design validation, manage departmental work packages to meet time and budget targets, and mentor staff to foster a right first time culture while driving continuous improvement and resource planning.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical power or control engineering; MSc/PhD preferred.
• Experience in power engineering industry with HVDC knowledge.
• Strong modeling in time and frequency domains.
• Experience with PSCAD/EMTDC, MATLAB/Simulink, EMTP-RV.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop HVDC control and protection engineers globally.
• Define and coordinate HVDC control concepts and ensure technical compliance.
• Oversee project management tasks: concept clarifications, customer engagement, documentation, simulations.
• Mentor teams and manage training matrices and processes.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and NCR oversight.
• Contribute as a technical specialist in control engineering, software development, and training.
