Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Mobile HVAC & Refrigeration Service Technician to join the field service team covering the Bristol region. You will service water chillers, AC and HVAC systems, perform fault-finding and repairs across diverse equipment, and maintain high safety standards.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 in HVAC (Level 3 desirable) and F-Gas Cat 1, with proven experience and strong electrical/diagnostic skills. A full UK driving licence and regional travel flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• HVAC experience with service/maintenance and fault-finding.
• Strong electrical and diagnostic skills for HVAC systems.
• Ability to read schematics and piping diagrams.
• Full UK driving licence; travel regionally expected.
• NVQ Level 2 in HVAC; Level 3 desirable; F-Gas Cat 1 certification.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining, and commissioning water chillers, AC and HVAC systems.
• Fault-finding and repair across chillers, DX, split systems, VRV/VRF, AHUs.
• Interpret schematics, piping diagrams and technical data to diagnose issues.
• Provide clear documentation and proactive improvement recommendations.
• Operate safely in line with Zero Harm culture.

The Role

You’ll be a trusted technical expert, delivering high‑quality service across multiple customer sites.

• Servicing, maintaining and commissioning Water Chillers, AC and HVAC systems
• Fault‑finding and repair across Chillers, DX, Split, VRV/VRF, AHUs and ventilation plant
• Working with leading manufacturers such as York, Trane, Carrier, Daikin, Hitachi and Mitsubishi Electric
• Completing clear documentation and providing proactive improvement recommendations
• Operating safely at all times, fully aligned with our Zero Harm culture

What We’re Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in HVAC (Level 3 desirable)
• F‑Gas 2079 Cat 1
• Proven experience as an HVAC/ Chiller Service Engineer
• Strong electrical, controls and diagnostic skills
• Ability to interpret schematics, piping diagrams and technical data
• Self‑motivated, customer‑focused and comfortable working independently
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regionally
