Job summary

Johnson Controls is recruiting a Mobile HVACR Service Technician to cover the South West region, including Plymouth, Exeter and Bridgwater. You’ll service, maintain and commission water chillers, air conditioning and HVAC systems across multiple sites.

We seek an experienced engineer with NVQ Level 2 in HVAC, F-Gas Cat 1, and strong electrical/controls diagnostic skills. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in HVAC (Level 3 desirable) required.
• F-Gas 2079 Cat 1.
• Proven HVAC/Chiller service experience.
• Strong electrical, controls and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read schematics, piping diagrams and data.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and commissioning water chillers, AC and HVAC systems.
• Fault-finding and repair across chillers, DX, Split, VRV/VRF, AHUs and ventilation plant.
• Completing clear documentation and providing proactive improvement recommendations.
• Operating safely at all times in line with Zero Harm culture.

Mobile HVAC & Refrigeration Service Technician

We’re now looking for an experienced Mobile HVACR Service Technician to join our field service team covering the South West region.

The Role

You’ll be a trusted technical expert, delivering high‑quality service across multiple customer sites. Your day‑to‑day will include:

• Servicing, maintaining and commissioning Water Chillers, AC and HVAC systems

• Fault‑finding and repair across Chillers, DX, Split, VRV/VRF, AHUs and ventilation plant

• Working with leading manufacturers such as York, Trane, Carrier, Daikin, Hitachi and Mitsubishi Electric

• Completing clear documentation and providing proactive improvement recommendations

• Operating safely at all times, fully aligned with our Zero Harm culture

What We’re Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in HVAC (Level 3 desirable)

• F‑Gas 2079 Cat 1

• Proven experience as an HVAC/ Chiller Service Engineer

• Strong electrical, controls and diagnostic skills

• Ability to interpret schematics, piping diagrams and technical data

• Self‑motivated, customer‑focused and comfortable working independently

• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regionally
