Job summary

Veolia is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician in Stevenage to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, maintain documentation, and supervise subcontractors. The role requires a strong understanding of maintenance tasks, risk assessments, and safety guidelines.

You will be on call and participate in maintenance shutdowns as needed. Offering a competitive salary up to £44,000 per annum plus on call allowance and a company van, this position includes extensive benefits and development opportunities

Qualifications

• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC equipment.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and electrical fundamentals.
• Ability to work independently and supervise subcontractors when required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot problems with HVAC equipment and carry out repairs.
• Complete site documentation before and after work tasks.
• Supervision of specialist subcontractors on site.
• Carry out risk assessments of maintenance task lists and keep them valid.
• Update maintenance task lists and ensure EHS compliance.
• Stand-by on call rota and work around maintenance shutdowns.
• Prepare and manage quotations and works approvals.

What you'll be doing;

• Troubleshoot problems with equipment and carry out repairs.
• Complete site documentation before and after work tasks.
• Supervision of specialist subcontractors
• Carry out Risk Assessment of Equipment Maintenance Task List steps and ensure they are kept valid.
• Update maintenance task lists.
• All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines.
• Flexibility to work around Maintenance Shutdown's.
• Participate in Audits of the Air Conditioning plant and follow up on actions.
• Prepare, compile and manage own quotations and works approvals
• Ownership of maintaining plant asset and F-gas register
• Stand-by on call rota

What we're looking for;

• Recognised trade qualification, City & Guilds Refrigeration and Air-conditioning (7189) or equivalent
• Experience in a similar role and good understanding of the basic fundamentals of the various utilities systems
• Willingness to expand working knowledge into mechanical and electrical systems
• Building Management Systems
• Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems
• Worked within a Computerised Maintenance Management Work Order system environment
• Troubleshooting/repair of electrical systems, related mechanical experience a distinct advantage
• Ability to pass Security Clearance check
