Job summary

Veolia Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a senior electrical/mechanical engineer lead to manage a team across sites, perform complex asset overhauls and repairs on dewatering equipment, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The role covers design, installation and testing of electrical control systems, with opportunities for overtime and site-based work. A strong maintenance background and relevant certifications are essential for this hands-on leadership position.

Qualifications

• NVQ or recognised apprenticeship in electrical engineering maintenance Level 3.
• BS Inspection & Testing qualification and 18th Edition ICA experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Compex Trained, Confined Space Trained, First Aid Trained, IOSH Trained.

Responsibilities

• Lead a senior team of electrical or mechanical engineers and fitters across multiple sites.
• Perform complex asset overhauls and replacements.
• Undertake electrical repairs and modifications on dewatering equipment.
• Work under CDM regulations on projects and supervise remedial work.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems including filtration and centrifuge.
• Design and install electrical control systems up to switchgear WIMES.
• Complete wiring, cabling, testing, and issue installation certificates.

What you'll be doing:

• Work as the senior team leader of a team of other electrical or mechanical engineers and mechanical fitters, often consisting of two or more engineers across a range of sites
• Carry out electrically complex and detailed asset overhauls and replacements
• Undertake complex electrical repairs and modifications dewatering equipment, pumps, pipework, valves and other ancillary equipment
• Working under CDM regulations on projects work
• Leading remedial work on dewatering EICA systems
• Troubleshooting on dewatering electrical systems: filtration, centrifuge
• Design and installation to WIMES of electrical control systems including switchgear
• Complete wiring and cabling works
• Carry out electrical inspections, services and repairs to customers' dewatering assets machines
• Undertake standby cover and overtime as required as well as flexibility to work away from home
• Complete test reports, installation certificates and customer feedback documents
• Complete customer paperwork such as permits to work and safety paperwork
• Please note some mechanical crossover is part of the role and the role will not be 100% electrical at all times

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience in working in an industrial environment
• NVQ or a recognised apprenticeship in electrical engineering maintenance at Level 3
• BS Inspection & Testing qualification & 18th Edition ICA experience
• Full UK Driving License
• Compex Trained
• Confined Space Trained
• First Aid Trained
• IOSH Trained
