Client Service Manager

Our client is a well-known and respected HVAC contractor with a nationwide presence across the UK, supporting over 130 employees and generating a turnover in excess of £20M. They operate in the commercial sector, including restaurants, hotels, leisure centres, healthcare, industrial, and education settings. The company offers installation, service, maintenance, fault finding, and repair on HVAC equipment such as air conditioning, chillers, AHUs, ventilation, and commercial heating.

The business is structured as an Employee-Owned Trust, meaning all employees are collective owners. This setup allows employees to have a say in management and participate in decision-making, with profits distributed among staff. This approach promotes long-term business success and employee vested interest in the company's performance and longevity.

The successful candidate will manage a P&L of approximately £1.3M, overseeing service and maintenance operations within their designated area to ensure client satisfaction. Responsibilities include managing a team of mobile engineers, driving service quality and productivity, maintaining and growing client relationships for contract extensions and remedial works, and monitoring financial performance including profit and loss, cost control, and revenue targets.

We seek a stable, committed, driven, and commercially astute Service/Operations Manager with proven HVAC technical expertise, leadership skills, client relationship management, and P&L control experience.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience in service or operations management, leading and planning work for engineering teams.
• HVAC technical knowledge of heating, cooling, wet systems, and plant rooms.
• Ability to lead technical discussions with clients regarding systems, services, maintenance, and remedial works.
• Strong client-facing and customer service skills, with experience in service and maintenance contracts and negotiations.
• Drive for professional development, progression, and increased responsibilities. Confident in managing P&L, budgets, and costs.

Salary & Benefits

• Basic Salary: £50,000-£60,000 DOE
• Car allowance circa £5k per annum
• Annual bonus based on net profit, service, compliance, and engineer development
• Employee-owned profit sharing scheme, increasing with tenure
