Winner Recruitment is seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer in Nottingham to join the Facilities Management team. The role focuses on VRV HVAC maintenance, fault finding, and safe refrigerant handling under F-Gas rules.
You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, manage risks, and support maintenance programmes while liaising with the client and on-call rota. Overtime and nights/weekends may be required.

Our client is looking for an experienced HVAC Engineer to join their Facilities Management team. This is a multi-skilled position, with a strong focus on HVAC maintenance and fault finding, particularly across VRV air conditioning systems.

Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across HVAC plant and equipment
Fault find on a range of HVAC systems, with a particular focus on VRV air conditioning systems
Safely handle refrigerants in line with F-Gas requirements
Identify and manage risks associated with plant and equipment
Identify critical spares and help improve the performance and reliability of equipment
Support the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programmes
Monitor and manage environmental conditions through BMS systems
Provide mechanical and electrical expertise to the wider maintenance team
Liaise with the client regarding reactive and PPM requirements
Complete all required maintenance documentation accurately and in accordance with relevant legislation
Use mobile devices and CAFM systems to receive, manage and complete works
Plan daily workloads effectively using email and calendar systems
Liaise with the Site Supervisor and Account Manager regarding building services issues
Complete Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Permits and safe systems of work
Support the wider team with Health & Safety requirements
Supervise and manage subcontractors when required
Act as a responsible person for the team when required and deputise for the Site Supervisor during periods of absence
Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota for emergency call-outs
Work overtime, including nights and weekends, where required
Undertake additional duties as required
The successful candidate will have strong experience in HVAC maintenance, alongside good multi-skilled mechanical and electrical capabilities.
You will ideally have:
Recognised or time-served apprenticeship
Strong proven experience in HVAC maintenance
Mechanical qualifications/competence to an appropriate City & Guilds standard
Good multi-skilled maintenance ability
Strong fault-finding skills
F-Gas qualification and experience handling refrigerants
Experience supervising subcontractors
Ability to complete Risk Assessments and Method Statements
Ability to understand and produce Permits and safe systems of work
Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
