Job summary

Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking a Technical Lead for HV substation projects in the UK. You will provide expert technical advice across 11kV–132kV assets, guiding tender through energisation, with close collaboration to the Technical Director and Project Managers.

The role offers hybrid working (remote/Birmingham office with site visits) on a 6–9 month contract, ASAP start, and a day rate to reflect seniority and market norms. Strong client-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering HV electrical infrastructure projects (11kV-132kV).
• Experience leading technical teams and coordinating multi-discipline activities.
• Ability to review designs and provide clear, buildable technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across HV projects from tender through energisation.
• Review designs, drawings and submissions for compliance and constructability.
• Support tender submissions and client discussions with practical engineering input.
• Coordinate interfaces with clients, DNOs, IDNOs, suppliers and contractors.
• Attend site visits and meetings to support critical project activities.
