Job summary

Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking an experienced engineering leader to oversee the delivery of HV substation projects and to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team.

The role requires strong experience in HV substation engineering (AIS/GIS) and a proven ability to guide design reviews, assure technical standards, and manage interfaces with clients and suppliers. Excellent communication and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in HV substation engineering across AIS and/or GIS.
• Proven track record leading engineering teams on transmission projects.
• Broad understanding of substation design, equipment and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery across primary plant, protection and control, and substation systems.
• Manage and develop the team, setting technical standards and priorities.
• Oversee design reviews, technical assurance and client specification compliance.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients and suppliers to deliver safely, on time and within budget.
• Resolve technical challenges and drive improvements in engineering processes.
