Job summary

SER Limited in Glasgow is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design HV infrastructure across EPC and renewable energy projects. You will deliver electrical designs from concept through construction, working with project managers and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safety and compliance.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Electrical Engineering, 3+ years’ experience in HV or MV/HV substations, and strong knowledge of UK standards, with proficiency in power system studies and electrical

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least three years' experience in electrical engineering design.
• Experience on HV projects, MV/HV substations, or renewable energy infra.
• Strong understanding of UK electrical standards and power systems.
• Experience producing design deliverables and reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate electrical designs for HV infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
• Produce and check electrical drawings including single-line diagrams and layouts.
• Carry out cable sizing, load flow, short-circuit analysis and protection studies.
• Develop electrical network models and prepare technical reports.
• Review contractor and supplier documents for compliance.
• Coordinate interfaces with other工程 disciplines and teams.
• Support site surveys, testing, commissioning and QA activities.
• Contribute to tender submissions and procurement input.
• Ensure compliance with UK standards and health & safety requirements.
• Mentor graduate engineers as needed.
