Job summary

Real in Glasgow, United Kingdom, seeks a Lead Secondary Engineer to lead a skilled team across HV substation projects, focusing on design, tender engineering and interfaces to meet customer and regulatory needs. Hybrid working is available with travel as required.

The role requires chartered status or progression toward CEng, extensive substation experience, and strong collaboration with internal and external partners across complex EHV/HV projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive substation engineering experience in utilities.
• Knowledge of SSEN & SPEN requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all secondary engineering activities from project start to As-Built.
• Review P&C design packages and ensure QA/QC and safety compliance.
• Prepare and certify design packages, and manage design changes.
