Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Electrical Substation Design Engineer to deliver comprehensive HV/EHV substation designs (11kV–132kV) and associated plant specifications. You will review supplier and client designs for compliance and lead CDM Designer responsibilities on major HV/EHV projects.

Role requires experience in AIS & GIS designs, cost estimation, and strong health and safety knowledge. Occasional site attendance and travel to project locations are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: HNC Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in HV and EHV substation design (11kV–132kV).
• Ability to interpret technical documentation for electrical substations.
• Knowledge of design cost estimation and health & safety/CDM requirements.

Responsibilities

• Produce comprehensive design drawings for Grid and Primary substations.
• Prepare specifications for Electrical plant and associated designs for upgrades/new substations (11kV–132kV).
• Produce feasibility reports, cost estimates, layouts and GA drawings.
• Review designs for compliance with standards and policies.
• Undertake CDM Designer/Principal Designer roles for HV/EHV projects.
