Job summary

PDQ Engineering Recruitment & Training Services Lt is seeking an experienced CNC Miller/Precision Engineer to join a small, hands-on team in South Oxfordshire. The role involves programming, setting and operating Hurco milling machines, handling one-offs, prototypes and small batches, and taking ownership of jobs from start to finish.

You will work with Hurco VM10i/VMX30/VM50Ti, and 4th-axis capability, employing Fusion 360 CAD/CAM and Hurco WinMax programming to determine the best manufacturing

Qualifications

• Strong Hurco CNC milling experience.
• Confident programming, setting and operating CNC mills independently.
• Good knowledge of Hurco machines.
• Fusion 360 CAD/CAM programming experience.
• Hurco WinMax conversational programming skills.
• Ability to work confidently from engineering drawings, CAD models and existing components.
• Good understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds and workholding.
• Experience with one-offs, prototypes and small-batch machining.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
• A strong eye for quality, accuracy and detail.
• Wire EDM experience would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate Hurco CNC milling machines.
• Work across a range of precision engineering projects with one-offs, prototypes and small batches.
• Modify, repair and reverse-engineer components as needed.
• Take ownership of jobs and decide the best manufacturing approach, tooling, workholding and machining strategies.
