HR Manager
UK Wide with travel to client sites - Full Time
The HR Manager has a pivotal role in implementing and embedding our people strategy and fostering a positive workplace culture. You will proactively collaborate with leaders, managers and colleagues across our organisation to promote employee engagement and development within a learning culture. You will further provide HR expertise to the teams and guide in people matters in accordance with best practice, our internal guidance, procedures and legal compliance.
What are the key responsibilities?
You will work on generalist HR workstreams as well as driving and coaching a learning culture, people engagement practices and leading on culture projects across the client account. You will:
- Proactively partner with managers to provide HR solutions
- Be an EDI champion and support the design and implementation of our EDI strategy, workstreams and initiatives across the account.
- Regularly meets with line managers across the account to understand their talent needs and team plans and offers a proactive and engaging integrated people service that contributes to high performance.
- Coaches line managers on employee relations matters and lifecycle processes.
- Improving awareness of company benefits, and enhancing communications across sites and the wider business.
- Driving through key areas of compliance to include suspensions, right to work, vetting, HR, L&D, and recruitment.
- Promote and embed performance management culture across the contract, including adherence to the Mitie performance management system and ensuring managers are competent in managing people.
- Providing support to line managers in implementing performance management training and assisting with the MiReview appraisal process.
- Work with People Business Partner on change initiatives in relation to restructuring and new business activity.
- Assist in compiling monthly HR reports as required for the business completing a monthly people report
- Inform managers of updates in legislation and potential impact on business, sharing legal updates when relevant.
- Ensure employee records and compliance with GDPR requirements are maintained on the contract.
- Enable employee engagement and communication with all employees to drive improvement of morale and engagement survey results and action planning.
What do you need to be successful?
You will need to have proven experience within a Generalist HR role as well as a strong understanding of HR best practice and people strategy. You will be passionate about developing a growth mindset and positive culture and environment driving EDI and L&D. You will also:
- Knowledge in developing team members to fulfil their potential
- TUPE and change management experience
- Proven track record of building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- High degree of confidentiality, discretion and integrity and treats others with kindness, courtesy, dignity and respect
- Resilient to bounce back from challenges, values challenge and change
- Attention to detail, completing tasks with a high level of accuracy, good literacy and numeracy skills as well as able to interpret data.
- Enthusiastic and motivated and owns responsibility areas
- Self-starter, learning attitude, able to work independently and as part of a team
- Hold a Full UK Driving License and be able to travel nationally with some overnight stays
