Job Description:

North Somerset Environment Company (NSEC) is seeking a passionate HR leader to support its growth at our Weston-Super-Mare offices. NSEC is a local authority owned private entity providing environmental and highway maintenance services across North Somerset.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will oversee HR strategic and operational activities, including guiding, supporting, and applying policies to our team of 280 colleagues across six locations. Your responsibilities will include managing recruitment, learning & development, and payroll functions.

We are particularly interested in candidates with HR experience in logistics or waste management sectors.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor
  • Qualified CIPD practitioner with strong knowledge of employment legislation
  • Experience managing third-party or in-house payroll bureaus
  • Strategic recruitment experience, familiar with media platforms
  • Excellent IT, analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, including trade union engagement
