Job summary

BramahHR Ltd in Wigan is seeking an experienced HR Generalist on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This hands-on role sits in a supportive HR team and touches employee relations, recruitment, coaching and engagement.

You’ll provide day-to-day HR guidance to managers and staff, manage relations cases, support onboarding, maintain records, and help with process improvements. Fully office-based with generous leave and a Friday early finish.

Qualifications

• Experienced HR Generalist with strong ER knowledge and HR processes.
• Solid understanding of employment law and policies.
• Ability to coach managers and handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
• Manage employee relations cases, including absence, conduct, performance and probation.
• Prepare documentation and take notes during investigations, meetings and hearings.
• Support recruitment, contracts and onboarding processes.
• Coach managers on HR policies, procedures and people-related matters.
• Maintain accurate HR records and support reporting requirements.
• Contribute to employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
• Support the wider HR team with generalist HR activities and process improvements.

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8am – 4:30pm | Friday, 9am – 3:30pm

Location: Wigan – Fully Office Based

Confident and proactive HR Generalist to join a supportive HR team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys a varied, hands-on role. You'll be supporting everything from employee relations and recruitment to manager coaching and employee engagement, making a real impact from day one.

About the candidate

You'll be an experienced HR Generalist with a strong understanding of employee relations, HR processes and employment legislation. Confident, approachable and organised, you'll be comfortable advising managers, managing competing priorities and adapting to change. We're looking for a proactive team player who can hit the ground running, with candidates from all industry backgrounds welcome.

What you’ll do
