Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a varied generalist role where no two days are the same?
We are recruiting an experienced HR Officer to join a well-established and growing business on a 6-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave. This HR Officer role offers a fantastic opportunity to work across a broad range of HR activities, supporting employees and managers while working closely with an experienced HR Manager.
What will you be doing as an HR Officer?
- Supporting recruitment from vacancy stage through to offers and onboarding
- Preparing contracts, offer letters and other HR documentation
- Acting as a first point of contact for day-to-day HR and employee queries
- Supporting the HR Manager with employee relations activity, including meeting preparation and note taking
- Supporting absence, probation and other general HR processes
- Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records
- Producing weekly and monthly HR reports and management information
- Coordinating training and other HR activities
- Working closely with the HR & Office Administrator and wider business
- Taking ownership of your workload and responding confidently to changing priorities

Required skills and experience
- Previous experience in a generalist HR role, ideally as an HR Officer, HR Advisor, HR Coordinator or experienced HR Administrator
- Strong generalist HR administration experience across a wide variety of responsibilities
- Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, contracts and employee documentation
- Some experience supporting employee relations, such as absence, probation or meeting preparation
- Comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly
- Proactive, reliable and able to take ownership of your work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise at all levels
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and professionalism
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- CIPD Level 3 or 5 would be advantageous
Benefits and Compensation
- £31,000 - £34,000 per annum
- 6-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave
- 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Flexi-time, with start times between 7am and 9:30am
