Job summary

Jobwise Ltd is recruiting an experienced HR Officer on a 6-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave in Manchester. The role offers a varied generalist remit, supporting employees and managers while working closely with an experienced HR Manager.

You will manage recruitment, onboarding, contracts and documentation, maintain confidential records, produce HR reports, and coordinate training. The workload is busy and reactive, with 36 hours per week and flexi-time between 7am and 9:30am,

Qualifications

• Experience in a generalist HR role (HR Officer/Advisor/Coordinator or HR Administrator).
• Strong HR administration experience across a wide range of tasks.
• Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, contracts and documentation.
• Some exposure to employee relations such as absence or probation.
• Able to work in a busy environment with changing priorities.
• Proactive, reliable and capable of taking ownership.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
• Highly organised with attention to detail; handles confidential information well.
• Good knowledge of MS Office; CIPD Level 3/5 advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supporting recruitment from vacancy stage through to offers and onboarding.
• Preparing contracts, offer letters and other HR documents.
• First point of contact for day-to-day HR questions.
• Supporting employee relations activity, including meeting prep and note-taking.
• Assisting with absence, probation and other HR processes.
• Maintaining confidential employee records.
• Producing weekly and monthly HR reports and MI.
• Coordinating training and other HR activities.
• Collaborating with the HR & Office Administrator and wider business.
• Taking ownership of workload and adapting to changing priorities.
