HR Business Partner

Partnering with key members of our senior and HR leadership teams, this role will help drive growth and profitability within our Northern Merchanting & Plant & Tool Hire divisions.

What will I be doing?
  • Building highly effective relationships with stakeholders to foster a positive culture
  • Providing senior-level, solution-focused coaching as a trusted advisor to challenge business thinking and aid decision-making
  • Shaping the HR agenda and cascading initiatives
  • Championing colleague engagement through effective partnering with senior leaders
  • Undertaking talent and succession planning reviews to develop capabilities
  • Managing change, including reorganisations and TUPE projects, in line with legislation, policy, and cultural values
  • Enhancing managers' confidence and capability in people management
  • Ensuring robust performance management, skill development, and empowerment
  • Collaborating with the wider HR team to deliver first-class, market-leading services
  • Driving people plans focused on attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining talent using data and insights

  • Proven ability to prioritise and deliver critical activities on time and to a high standard

  • Curiosity to question, listen, learn, and identify causal influences
  • Knowledge of leadership styles supporting coaching, feedback, engagement, and influencing
  • Commercial awareness of business success metrics
  • Strong ER skills and employment law knowledge
  • Experience as a change catalyst, implementing restructuring, redundancies, TUPE, etc.
  • Ability to operate at pace across multiple priorities
  • Desirable: CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent, with relevant experience
