Job summary

FedEx UK is hiring an Operations Maintenance Technician in Newcastle-under-Lyme to repair and service hub equipment, minimising downtime and safeguarding operations. You’ll be part of a team ensuring safe, efficient running of Sort Equipment Hub.

The role requires organisational and communication skills, a City and Guilds Electrical/Mechanical qualification, and a flexible approach to shifts. 40 hours weekly with a pay rate of £21.68 per hour plus night premiums.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds Electrical/Mechanical engineering qualification is required.
• Strong electrical/mechanical maintenance background.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and PLC systems.
• Understanding of health and safety regulation.

Responsibilities

• Organise team maintenance and equipment to keep operations safe and efficient.
• Monitor workflow and take corrective action where needed.
• Liaise with Depot and Operations Managers to resolve issues.
• Ensure smooth machine transitions with health and safety focus.
• Complete nightly information recording sheets.
• Follow Group Operations Manual to maintain service levels.
• Return equipment to designated areas and maintain safe order.
