Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a part-time administrative support assistant for the Moira Adult Learning Centre. The role supports learners and visitors, handles data input for enrolments, processes payments and delivers exams with a strong focus on customer service. Flexibility to cover evenings and Saturdays is required.

You will work 22.2 hours per week on a permanent contract, with DBS checks and commitment to confidentiality. Strong English and numeracy are essential.

Qualifications

  • Reception and customer care experience.
  • Clerical tasks including word processing, filing, photocopying, data input and records management.
  • Routine cash handling and keeping accurate financial records.
  • Ability to organise tasks to meet priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for learners and visitors.
  • Deliver exams and enrol learners by inputting data into the system.
  • Process payments and provide excellent customer service to learners and curriculum teams.
  • Assist with out-of-hours cover, including evenings and Saturdays when required.

Work Location: Moira Adult Learning Centre, Moira Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire, LE11 1AX

Salary: £25,995 - £26,409 per annum (pro rata for part time) (pay award pending)

Working Hours: 22.2 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

About The Role

You will be the first point of contact for our learners and visitors to our venue. The post covers a variety of admin tasks to also include the delivery of exams, inputting data accurately into our system to enrol learners onto our courses, processing payments, and to provide an excellent customer service to learners and curriculum teams.

The post requires out of hours cover and you must be available to work up to a maximum of 2 evenings a week and up to 8 Saturdays per annum.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.

About You
  • Have a good standard of written and spoken English equivalent to functional skills level 2 or above, and a good standard of numeracy
  • Reception and customer care experience
  • Clerical experience in a range of tasks to include word processing, filing, photocopying, taking and relaying messages, data input and maintaining records
  • Routine cash handling
  • Organising tasks to meet priorities
  • Working as a team member
  • Be aware of the importance of confidentiality
