Job summary

Ground Control is seeking an experienced HSQE Manager to lead health, safety, quality and environment across our Grounds Maintenance operations UK-wide. The role offers autonomy, travel to sites and building safety improvements with operational teams.

You will provide practical HSQE leadership, investigations, audits and reporting, while coaching managers and frontline staff to embed safer working practices and continuous improvement. Flexible national role.

Qualifications

• Strong Health & Safety experience within a hands-on operational environment.
• NEBOSH General Certificate with practical experience.
• Ability to manage priorities and take ownership with minimal direction.
• Practical, hands-on approach balancing advisory and on-site support.
• Excellent communication to build trusted relationships with teams and clients.
• Experience in incident investigation, auditing, risk management and HSQE reporting.
• Continuous improvement mindset and openness to change.
• Integrity, strong work ethic and willingness to make a difference.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical HSQE leadership across Grounds Maintenance operations.
• Visit sites and work with managers to understand challenges and implement improvements.
• Support incident investigations, audits, risk management and ensure lessons lead to action.
• Build relationships with clients and discuss safety performance and improvement plans.
• Review HSQE reports and provide actionable insights to operational leaders.
• Coach and mentor colleagues to strengthen HSQE knowledge and confidence.
• Support PQQs, client information and HSQE communications.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and raise safety standards.
