Job summary

St. James’ Park in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to lead Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Food Safety across a fast‑paced venue that hosts 52,000+ fans and guests.

You will partner with operational leaders, chefs, hospitality teams and client stakeholders to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement. You will deliver HSEQ guidance, conduct audits, investigate incidents, train teams and maintain RAMS and safe systems of work.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH qualification or working towards within six months.
• Experience in Health & Safety, HSEQ or Food Safety roles.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance frameworks.
• Experience managing audits, inspections and compliance systems.
• Experience investigating accidents and incidents.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing professional HSEQ and Food Safety guidance to operational teams.
• Conducting audits, inspections and compliance reviews across kitchens, hospitality suites and concessions.
• Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventative actions.
• Delivering training, toolbox talks and inductions to managers and frontline teams.
• Supporting major event planning and ensuring safe operational delivery on matchdays and event days.
• Developing and maintaining risk assessments, RAMS, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
• Producing reports and KPI analysis to drive performance improvements.
