Job summary

Cibus People Ltd is recruiting an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Co-ordinator for our growing food manufacturer. You will support the HSE Manager, lead internal and ISO audits, and promote best-practice health and safety across fast-paced sites.

The role is hybrid, four days on site and one day from home, with travel to multiple sites. You will develop risk assessments and safe systems of work, and induct contractors on site. NEBOSH qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH certificate or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 is essential.
• Valid UK driving license is required.
• Active membership of IOSH or IEMA is preferred.
• Experience delivering health and safety inductions and training.

Responsibilities

• Support the HSE Manager to ensure best practice and legislative compliance.
• Lead internal and ISO audits and drive corrective actions.
• Communicate safety expectations to shop-floor teams and supervisors.
• Develop, review and implement risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Induct and monitor contractors on site and liaise with suppliers and auditors.
• Travel to multiple sites to engage and educate on HSE matters.

Job description

The Company

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Co-ordinator to join a growing fast paced food manufacturing business that offers variety, responsibility and career development.

The Role

As a Health, Safety & Environment Co-ordinator you will support the HSE Manager in ensuring that the organisation achieves best practise in protecting the health and safety of all persons affected by its undertakings and exceeds all legislative requirements. This will include but not be limited to internal H&S audits and ISO audits.

You will need to have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable communicating and supporting the shop floor supervisors and managers, identifying and resolving H&S issues and promoting a culture of best practice.

This role is hybrid, four days on site and one day from home, 37 Hours per week (1 hour for lunch). Monday to Thursday 8.30 - 5, Friday 8.30 - 4.30.

A driving license and your own transport is a must for this role as it is a regional role and will involve travel to multiple sites within the business to walk round the site, engage, educate and drive conversations on all aspects of health, safety and environment.

You will need to be comfortable communicating, approving, inducting and monitoring contractors on site, as well as liaising with external bodies including suppliers and external audit bodies.

Part of the role will also involve input into the development and review of risk assessments and safe systems of work as well as carrying out Health and Safety inductions for new members of staff.
