Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager for the Sizewell C New Nuclear Build contract in Suffolk. You will lead the project HS&W function, drive a proactive safety culture, and provide leadership across the project team, supply chain and stakeholders to ensure compliance with client policies and legal duties.

The role requires NEBOSH Construction Cert (or equivalent) with senior-level experience in civil infrastructure, strong communication skills and BPSS

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent is the minimum requirement.
• NEBOSH Diploma and/or NVQ Level 6 or equivalent are desirable for senior management.
• Professional membership (Grad IOSH/CMIOSH) or working towards Chartered status is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UK construction health and safety legislation (CDM).
• Experience leading investigations and implementing lessons learned in major projects.
• Proven ability to lead, influence and coach multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports and briefings.
• BPSS level security clearance is required for the nuclear site.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continual improvement of the client’s HS&W policies and project arrangements.
• Provide visible HS&W leadership to the project team, supply chain and stakeholders.
• Develop and monitor HS&W objectives, campaigns and wellbeing programmes.
• Oversee HS&W reporting, dashboards and performance statistics for governance forums.
• Review Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and permits to ensure compliance.
• Lead site inspections, audits and assurance visits in line with targets and risk profile.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses and ensure lessons are embedded.
• Coordinate engagement with operational teams to identify HS&W risks and training needs.
