Job summary

Matchtech are seeking a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager to lead the HS&W function on the Sizewell C New Nuclear Build contract in Suffolk. You will provide proactive leadership to the project team, supply chain and stakeholders, ensuring client policies and legal duties are met across a complex major infrastructure environment.

You will drive a positive safety culture, oversee assurance and governance, and ensure risks are identified and communicated throughout the lifecycle of the works,

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ Level 6 or equivalent for management level.
• Grad IOSH/CMIOSH membership preferred.
• Experience leading major civil/infrastructure projects and safety investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continual improvement of HS&W policies, procedures, standards and project-specific arrangements.
• Provide visible HS&W leadership to project team, supply chain and client stakeholders.
• Develop and monitor HS&W objectives, campaigns, behavioural safety initiatives and wellbeing programmes.
• Manage HS&W reporting, dashboards and performance statistics for governance forums.
• Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work and permits.
• Lead site inspections, audits and assurance reviews in line with risk profile.
• Ensure incidents are investigated and lessons learned communicated and embedded.
• Engage with operational teams to identify HS&W risks and training needs.
• Advise senior leadership on compliance, risk management and client requirements.
