Are you looking to build a successful career in HR? We are seeking an enthusiastic HR Assistant to join a friendly and supportive HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is currently studying towards, or looking to pursue, a CIPD Level 3 qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing recruitment administration, including approving and publishing vacancies through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Coordinating pre-employment checks and onboarding activities for new starters
- Preparing and issuing offer letters, contracts of employment, and employment documentation
- Administering employee changes, including contract amendments and payroll-related updates
- Managing leaver processes and maintaining accurate employee records
- Monitoring key employment dates and compliance requirements, including DBS renewals and other statutory checks
- Supporting TUPE transfer processes by collating employee information and ensuring accurate payroll and HR record updates
- Managing employee absence administration, including annual leave, sickness, maternity, and paternity records
- Preparing redundancy calculations and associated documentation
- Providing administrative support for employee relations matters, including arranging meetings and taking notes during investigations, disciplinary, and grievance hearings
- Supporting managers with informal and Stage 1 sickness absence processes
- Responding to employee and manager queries in a professional, confidential, and timely manner
- Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies
About You
- A genuine interest in Human Resources and developing a career within the profession
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- A customer-focused approach with the ability to build positive working relationships
- The ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within an HR or Administration environment
- Experience using HR information systems or databases
- Knowledge of HR administration processes and employment lifecycle activities
- An understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice
- Experience developing or improving administrative procedures
