Job description
Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Human Resources Team. We pay an attractive salary of £35,412 - £38,220 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

The postholder will be responsible for the effective delivery of the HR service across the Council by providing timely advice, guidance and support to Managers, Headteachers and employees on a range of people management issues. As part of the Business Partner team the role will also be key to supporting the Council's transformation and cost-saving initiatives. In addition, the post holder will have line management responsibility for HR Assistants.

The role is customer facing and HR Officers will be working with Managers at various levels across the Council including Executive Directors, Directors of Service Areas, Headteachers, employees, Elected Members, Members of Governing Bodies and trade unions.

The successful candidate will also undertake and, where appropriate, lead on project work commensurate with the level of the post including assisting in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures as well as practices and procedures to improve the efficiency and delivery of the service.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • A relevant Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
  • Current working knowledge of employment law.
  • Two years experience of working within a Personnel / HR service area within the last five years.
  • Must be willing to travel both within and outside of the County Borough.
Other Information

The position is Home/office agile working role with visits to other Council sites, external agencies, schools with the occasional requirement to work outside of normal office hours.
