Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a practical and approachable HR Manager for a school in Blackpool. This hands-on role covers recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and safeguarding to help the school run smoothly.

You will advise senior staff, maintain HR records, ensure compliance with UK employment law and lead staff development. DBS checks and safeguarding experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR management or senior HR advisory work.
• Strong understanding of UK employment law.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Confidence handling sensitive matters professionally.
• Previous school experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Advise on attendance, performance and employee relations.
• Support disciplinary and grievance procedures.
• Maintain HR records, policies and employment documentation.
• Coordinate appraisals and staff training.
• Ensure pre-employment checks and safeguarding processes are followed.
