Job summary

GBR Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced HR Manager to lead HR, ER and payroll processes in a true generalist role for a busy East Midlands construction company.

This on-site role at the Leicester HQ reports to the HR Director, oversees a small HR team, and requires CIPD Level 5/7 and payroll exposure within a 500+ employee environment.

You will drive HRBP activities, ensure legal compliance, develop policies, support L&D, and lead key HR/ER projects across the business.

Qualifications

• Strong HR/ER and employee engagement experience.
• 360-degree HR generalist with payroll exposure.
• Payroll knowledge and 500+ employees experience.
• EDI (Well-being, Diversity & Inclusion) knowledge.
• CIPD Level 5 or 7 qualified.
• Strong HRIS knowledge.
• Up-to-date employment law knowledge.
• Team player with coaching mindset.
• Construction/manufacturing/logistics background useful.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 360 HR/ER function across the site.
• Oversee payroll processing with Payroll Manager.
• Lead recruitment, absence management, disciplinary hearings.
• Plan staffing, resourcing and restructures.
• Drive employee engagement and L&D initiatives.
• Provide HR data reports to SMT with HRD.
• Partner with SMT as HRBP.
