Job summary

Loughborough Students’ Union is seeking an experienced HR Manager to provide professional HR support across all LSU departments throughout the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to off-boarding.

You will work closely with Department Heads to drive change, develop HR processes, and ensure compliant advisory services. The role requires strong HR knowledge, stakeholder management, and experience with HR systems and payroll. This is a full-time, open-ended post based in Loughborough.

As the LSU HR Manager you will be providing qualified professional support across all LSU departments and across a broad range of HR support from recruitment and onboarding across the full employee lifecycle through to off-boarding. You will liaise closely with colleagues in the LSU Learning and Development Team to ensure the appropriate provision of mandatory training and professional development.

You will be working closely with Department Heads to bring about process improvement with a strong emphasis on effective change management, developing systems will also be a major part of this role, including the HR Management system(s), payroll and finance systems that support our organisation.

Successful applicants will have strong HR advisory experience, excellent UK employment law knowledge, the ability to effectively build strong working relationships and experience in reviewing and improving processes. You will be confident and comfortable advising senior colleagues, navigating ambiguity and offering constructive challenge and solutions in line with best practice and LSU strategy, policy and procedure and enjoy developing and improving existing practice and processes.
