Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to provide day-to-day HR support across senior housing and healthcare sites. You will be a trusted resource on policies, procedures, and employment practices, focusing on employee relations, compliance, and operational HR tasks.

The role requires discretion, empathy, and sound judgment to manage routine matters, conduct low-level investigations, and collaborate with leaders to uphold our employee-first culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Human Resources is preferred.
• 2–4 years of progressive human resources experience required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Working knowledge of employee relations practices, corrective action processes, and basic employment law.
• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office; HRIS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as first point of contact for leaders and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment-related questions.
• Provides guidance and coaching to leaders on performance management, corrective action, documentation, and compliance with leave of absence and accommodation requirements (including ADA).
• Provides guidance to leaders on day-to-day employee relations issues, including attendance, performance concerns, and policy interpretation.
• Supports in disciplinary actions up to and including terminations, in alignment with company policy and employment laws.
• Triages and responds to a high volume of employee and leadership inquiries using Salesforce case management system.
• Administers and supports human resource policies and procedures across assigned communities or departments.
• Assists with onboarding activities, ensuring a smooth and compliant new-hire experience.
• Maintains accurate and confidential employee records and HR data related to compensation, benefits, training, recruitment, and employee status changes.
• Prepares internal employee communications with appropriate oversight.
• Supports HR Business Partners and HR leadership with projects, audits, and initiatives as needed.
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of our culture and Common Beliefs; models professionalism and servant leadership.
