Join Our Team at DFTO
DfT Operator (DFTO) is the public sector rail owning group responsible for all train operators transitioning into public ownership. Established by the Department for Transport in 2018, it aims to deliver safe, secure, and sustainable transport to everyone, everywhere. Our focus is on improving journeys, providing excellent customer service, and supporting a passenger-focused railway industry.
We currently operate four train companies: London North Eastern Railway (LNER), Northern, Southeastern, and TransPennine Express (TPE), with over 4,500 services daily and 300 million customer journeys annually. Over the next three years, we plan to transfer all passenger services under DfT contracts.
Our vision is to unify and strengthen train operators under the DFTO umbrella, aiming to lead in safety, customer service, and operational performance through collaboration.
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as a strategic partner to DFTO management, providing HR services aligned with business goals. The role involves fostering an inclusive and proactive work environment, managing change initiatives, and overseeing operational HR functions with support from an HR Admin. The HRBP will also act as the HR representative for staff at all levels and collaborate with HR Centres of Expertise to meet business objectives.
