Job description

HR Business Partner, Community Mental Health & Adult Learning Disability Directorates

An exciting opportunity to join the well-respected People team (ER & HRBP team) at Oxleas as an HRBP supporting our Community Mental Health and Adult Learning Disability Services. You will be passionate about making Oxleas a great place to work, demonstrating engaging and caring leadership committed to tackling inequalities and supporting excellent patient and community care.

Fully CIPD qualified and a current member, you will bring extensive HR experience and a high-quality, solution-focused approach. Strong knowledge of employment law and ER casework experience are essential, along with a proactive stance on change management aligned with the Trust’s strategies. You will act as a full business partner to your Directorate management team, gaining credibility early on.

The successful candidate will be based at Trust HQ Pinewood House, near Bexley, Kent, with flexible home working options. The role involves travel across Bexley, Bromley, and Greenwich, and potentially other Oxleas sites as required.

Job Summary
  1. Contribute to the development and implementation of the Trust’s strategic and HR strategies as a proactive member of both HR and Directorate management teams.
  2. Provide specialist advice to managers on all HR matters.
  3. Advocate for change and modernization supporting the Trust’s business and HR strategies.
  4. Work extensively with external stakeholders, including local authorities, commissioners, and trade unions, requiring excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  5. Line manage the HR Advisor for Community Mental Health & Adult Learning Disability Services.
  6. Promote best HR practices through performance management systems including appraisals and personal development planning.
  7. Operate within a multi-unionized and multi-professional employee relations environment.
  8. Deputize for the Head of ER and Business Partnering as needed.
  9. Provide expertise in areas such as agenda for change, TUPE, and organizational change.
  10. Undertake ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Head of ER & Business Partnering.
