Job description

CVS Group plc is an AIM-listed, international integrated veterinary services provider, delivering services through four business areas: veterinary practices, diagnostic laboratories, pet crematoria, and e-commerce division. The Group generates over £500m in revenue from 500 practices across three countries, employing more than 8,000 staff, including vets, nurses, other clinical staff, and support personnel. In a growing pet market, we are well-positioned for organic and acquisitive growth, with significant investments underway to enhance our infrastructure and support systems.

The opportunity:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will work collaboratively with the Senior HRBP and Leadership Teams to provide strategic business partnering, supporting and executing key people initiatives.

This is a remote position requiring travel to practices and locations in the South East, including the Isle of Wight. Candidates should be within a commutable distance to the South East of the UK.

Please note: this is a 13-month maternity cover position.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Act as a strategic partner to support business areas, helping leadership improve performance.
  2. Translate HR strategy into clear objectives aligned with business goals, providing support to achieve them.
  3. Develop a deep understanding of your business areas, including people issues, financial, clinical, and client concerns, to inform strategic discussions.
  4. Lead on all aspects of people strategic plans, talent mapping, succession planning, leadership development, and engagement initiatives.
  5. Utilize data and metrics to support decision-making, change management, and insights.
  6. Identify and implement practical solutions to people-related issues, collaborating with HR services teams as needed.
  7. Coach leaders on team management, organizational development, high-performance culture, and engagement strategies.
  8. Support HR projects, new systems, and processes, promoting strategic pillars such as Engagement, EDI, Talent, and Wellbeing.
  9. Identify opportunities for improving people management and development practices.
  10. Benchmark HR practices internally and externally, recommending improvements.
  11. Use HR data and KPIs to derive insights, improve processes, and address trends and challenges.

The skills required:

  1. Proven ability to influence and drive strategic objectives.
  2. Level 7 CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.
  3. Strong engagement skills with leaders at all levels.
  4. Experience in utilizing HR data insights and reporting metrics.
  5. Collaborative approach to align business and HR strategies.
  6. Understanding of company strategy, operational needs, and external employment trends.
  7. Effective communication skills, capable of influencing and challenging at all levels.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  9. Passion for developing and coaching talent.
  10. Resilient, adaptable, and supportive of ongoing change.
  11. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, with knowledge of HRMS databases.

Benefits include: a salary of up to £55,000 DOE, 6.6 weeks holiday, buy/sell holiday scheme, pension matched up to 6%, additional holiday days based on service, enhanced leave options, staff discounts, and more.
