Purpose of the Job

A strong partner and change agent, aligning business objectives with HR best practice, working in partnership with senior leaders to turn strategic plans into tangible people plans.

Reporting to the Regional Head of Human Resources this role contributes to the successful embedding of corporate HR strategy initiatives within the Guernsey (and Jersey) business ensuring local business requirements are accounted for in the design and delivery of such initiatives. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring that key cyclical people-related activity such as Talent, Succession Planning and Reward Management are executed efficiently.

Main Responsibilities

Demonstrate decisive action and integrity providing coaching to managers on effective leadership practices, fostering accountability and professional growth.

Ensure compliance with HR regulations

Championperformance management for a high performing culture from compensation and succession planning, people development, and performance management.

Support organisational change initiatives, leading and ensuring colleagues are accountable for behaviour change.

Bring insight and workforce reporting excellence by understanding the business, finance and people data to identify trends, gaps and prioritise action.

Align learning and development initiatives to deliver value to the business to support clients.

Manage employee relations, proactively managing risks and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.

Support managers in the effective staffing of their teams ensuring inclusivity in how we recruit, how we develop and who we promote.

Develop an external network to be up to date in terms of practice within the sector (e.g. professional bodies).

Collaborate with HR colleagues to support a ‘one team’ approach and challenge so that we may continuously improve to deliver the People Strategy and annual business plans.

Qualifications Required

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Ideally CIPD qualified to level 7, or an equivalent qualification.

Minimum 4years HR Business Partner or equivalent experience ideally within a fast-paced global organisation.

Deep knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, HR concepts and expertise.

Strong working knowledge of HR systems.

Credibility and recognition of ethicalbehaviour.

Numerically competent with proven experience producing quality management information.

High levels of flexibility and ability to work through ambiguity.

Knowledge of the financial services industry is an advantage.

A flexible coaching approach with the ability to adapt personal style.

Analytical and able to implement decisions quickly.

Adaptation and flexibility to act in a changing and complex environment, with a multitasking mindset.

Strong detail orientation, follow up and organizational skills.

Effective communication skills both verbal and written; proven experience of establishing, maintaining, and developing working relationships at all levels.
