Kameo Recruitment is proud to have partnered with an educational trust in Cambridge who is looking to recruit an HR Assistant. Working within a dedicated, flexible and people-focused team, you will be providing support to the Assistant HR Business Partner with recruitment, training, employee relations and HR administration. This really is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure and hands-on experience within the world of HR.
There is the opportunity to study the CIPD qualification after a successful probationary period and business demands.

Duties & Responsibilities of the HR Assistant:

1. Provide a professional HR service to Schools. This includes recruitment, training, employee relations and HR administrative support to employees and managers.
2. Provide a first line response to HR queries from employees and managers by phone and email, escalating where appropriate.
3. Offer advice to managers and staff on recruitment and on-boarding along with administering contractual documentation.
4. Support the recruitment and induction process of Senior staff including managing the interview process and acting as a key member of the interview panel.
5. Contribute to key HR and Trust-wide strategic projects with scope to collaborate with teams spanning various specialisms e.g. L&D, finance, and operations.
6. Support the Director of People and HR Business Partnering Team with all aspects of disciplinary case work including note taking, preparing documentation, and preparing invite and outcome letters.
7. Maintain the Single Central Record (SCR) ensuring employee records are up to date.
8. Develop and run specific training sessions.
9. Monitor probation, sickness absence and annual leave.

Requirements for the HR Assistant:

1. Administrative experience in either a HR / recruitment or generalist environment.
2. Passion for HR and have a willingness to study towards the CIPD.
3. Evidence of strong communication and customer service skills.
4. Ability to organise, be proactive and plan your own workload.
5. Ideally have experience of dealing with HR queries and advising management on staffing matters including employee relations and practice.
6. Ability to build and maintain relationships.
7. Good written and verbal communication.
8. Excellent IT skills.
9. Be able to travel to meetings across different sites.

Hours of Work:

Monday - Thursday 8am - 4pm and Friday 8am - 3.30pm (with a 30-minute unpaid break per day) there is flexibility in the starting and finishing times.

Hybrid Working:

2 days working from home, 3 days in the office once training is completed. More flexibility for working at home in the school holidays.

Location:

Cambridge, with the requirement to work across the Trust and to travel between sites.
