Job summary

JGA Recruitment Group is seeking an HR Advisor for a six-month fixed-term contract to support multiple schools across Cheshire, Wirral and Liverpool. The role involves managing an existing employee relations caseload, advising Headteachers and School Business Managers on HR matters, and handling investigations from start to finish.

You will need essential HR casework experience in schools or LA settings, experience with disciplinary and grievance processes, and knowledge of Burgundy Book, NJC

Qualifications

• Essential HR casework experience within schools, multi-academy trusts or local authority school HR service.
• Proven experience managing employee relations cases and conducting workplace investigations independently.
• Working knowledge of Burgundy Book, NJC Green Book and STPCD.

Responsibilities

• Manage disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence, probation and dignity at work cases from start to finish.
• Conduct investigations, prepare reports and draft case correspondence and outcome letters.
• Advise school leaders on employment law, HR policies and employee relations procedures.
• Support safeguarding-related staff allegations, including LADO liaison where required.
• Maintain accurate case records, produce management reports and support policy updates.
• Work with trade unions and external legal advisers where necessary.
