Job summary

NWS in Brighton seeks an HR Advisor to join our HR team. You will deliver practical, timely HR advice and support employee relations activity while contributing to HR initiatives that improve performance and employee experience.

Working with HR Business Partners, you will apply policies accurately, support absence management, track sickness data, and assist with HR metrics and payroll processes. Strong CIPD L5, Excel and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised CIPD L5 or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
• HR Generalist with employment law knowledge.
• Experience in employee relations and absence management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and relationship-building.
• HR systems and data management experience.
• Comfortable delivering HR training across the business.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line HR advice on policies, procedures and best practice.
• Lead and support on employee relation issues in line with legislation.
• Support HRBP in meetings, casework and project activity.
• Track sickness absence with Health & Wellbeing Lead and support meetings.
• Develop HR metrics and analytics to inform management decisions.
• Assist with annual bonus and pay award processes and payroll support.
• Monitor exit interview data and provide feedback to managers.
• Provide SME support for policy updates and process improvements.
• Manage HR mailbox and respond to queries promptly.
• Coordinate flexible working and family leave requests.
• Oversee ill health retirement and Group Income Protection cases.
• Coach managers to improve capability in handling people matters.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders as a trusted HR contact.
