Job summary

Secret Mode is seeking an HR Advisor to provide practical, people-focused advice to managers on employee relations and policy queries. You will support ER casework, investigations, and the full employee lifecycle, ensuring compliant documentation and a positive workplace culture.

You’ll work in a hybrid environment with 3 days in Leamington Spa Head Office and 2 days from home, contributing to wellbeing initiatives and HR projects while maintaining GDPR-compliant records.

Qualifications

• Experience in a HR Advisor, HR Officer, or similar generalist HR role.
• Comfortable handling employee relations cases.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
• Practical, approachable style and ability to build relationships with managers.
• Organised, detail-focused and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Confident communicator who can explain HR processes clearly and calmly.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced games publishing environment.

Responsibilities

• Providing practical, people-focused advice to managers on employee relations matters such as performance, absence, conduct, grievance, and policy queries.
• Supporting ER casework, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence cases, supporting managers through the process and ensuring documentation is accurate and compliant.
• Supporting investigations and formal meetings, including preparing paperwork, coordinating meetings, and taking notes where required.
• Supporting employee lifecycle activities, including probation reviews, family-friendly matters, and flexible working requests.
• Providing proactive support and signposting with regards to employee welfare – including wellbeing feedback, employee check-ins and support signposting.
• Assisting with HR projects and initiatives, including progression planning support, training analysis, change projects, and policy updates.
• Assisting with employee engagement projects; including employee wellbeing initiatives, company event planning and participation in the SMV (Secret Mode Voice) group.
• Maintaining accurate HR records using Bright HR and ensuring GDPR-compliant data handling.
• Supporting the analysis of people data and trends (e.g. absence, ER cases) to help identify themes and areas for improvement including processing feedback.
• Providing additional support for the office administrator - including H&S and facilities related tasks – including updating tasks on BrightSafe (part of BrightHR)
