Job summary

Portakabin Ltd is seeking a HR Advisor to join our Central HR Advisory team at the Head Office in York. You will provide support, guidance and advice to employees and managers on employee relations matters, ensuring consistent application of company policies.

You will coach managers on HR policies, support ER procedures, manage formal ER cases, and contribute to training on ER topics while ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies.

Qualifications

• CIPD qualified.
• Experience of complex ER cases.
• Ability to manage cases independently.
• Strong understanding of employment law and HR policies.
• Excellent communication and mediation skills.
• Experience in HR advisor or employee relations roles.
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely advice on employee relations matters and ensure policies are applied consistently.
• Coach and advise managers on HR policies and procedures to build capability.
• Support employees and managers through ER procedures and resolve cases timely.
• Manage formal ER cases, tracked and resolved within timescales.
• Conduct exit interviews and escalate feedback to stakeholders.
• Escalate high-risk cases to the People Operations Manager as needed.
• Support design and delivery of ER training to improve line manager capability.
• Ensure guidance complies with employment law and company policies.
