Job summary

Portakabin Ltd. is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join the Central HR Advisory team at our Head Office in York. You will advise on employee relations, support managers, and ensure consistent policy application.

The role offers a permanent contract with an annual salary up to £35,000, plus a potential 5% annual bonus based on performance. Based in York, YO32 9PT, with 25 days leave and additional benefits.

Qualifications

• CIPD qualified.
• Experience of complex ER cases.
• Confidence to manage cases independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and effective advice on employee relations matters, ensuring policies are applied consistently.
• Coach and advise managers on HR policies and procedures to build capability.
• Support employees through ER procedures and resolve cases promptly.
• Manage formal ER cases, ensuring documentation and timescales are met.
• Conduct exit interviews and relay feedback to stakeholders.
• Escalate complex issues to the People Operations Manager with governance alignment.
• Assist in designing and delivering training on ER topics.
• Ensure guidance complies with employment law and company policies.

As an experienced HR Advisor you will provide support, guidance and advice to employees and managers on all employee relations matters, ensuring consistent application of company policies.

Role Details:

• Annual salary up to £35,000 dependent on skills and experience, plus potential annual-on-target bonus of up to 5% subject to business performance
• Role based: York, YO32 9PT
• Contract type: Permanent
• Annual leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays and opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year.

In this role you will be required to:

• Provide timely and effective advice on employee relations matters, ensuring company policies are applied consistently.
• Coach and advise managers on HR policies and procedures, building knowledge and capability to handle people issues confidently.
• Support employees and managers through ER procedures, handling cases proactively to achieve timely resolution.
• Manage formal ER cases, ensuring they are recorded, tracked and resolved within required timescales.
• Conduct exit interviews and elevate feedback and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
• Escalate complex or high-risk cases to the People Operations Manager, seeking guidance and approval in line with governance requirements.
• Support the design and delivery of training on key employee relations topics to increase line manager capability.
• Ensure advice and guidance is compliant with employment law and company policies.
