Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled HR Advisor for a 12-month contract with a local authority in Chichester. The role focuses on delivering professional HR guidance, handling employee relations cases, and supporting organizational change aligned with People Plans and workforce objectives.

Collaboration with HR Business Partners and Senior HR colleagues will be essential to provide a proactive, customer-focused HR service that supports operational and strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience providing generalist HR advice within a complex organization.
• Proven experience managing a range of employee relations cases from start to resolution.
• Experience supporting organizational change activities, including restructures and consultation processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a wide range of people-related matters.
• Manage employee relations cases, including absence management, disciplinary, grievance, capability, probation, flexible working, and performance management matters.
• Ensure cases are handled effectively, consistently, and in line with employment legislation, Council policies, and best practices.
• Escalate complex or high-risk employee relations issues to Senior HR colleagues or specialist teams where appropriate.
• Attend formal meetings and hearings, providing procedural advice and support.
