A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an HR Advisor to join their team in the UK. The successful candidate will provide general HR support, manage recruitment processes, and address employee relations issues. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field and strong HR advisory experience. The role offers hybrid working options, requiring office attendance three days a week.
Our Stantec HR UK&I team is a passionate group of HR professionals supporting a UK&I region of almost 4,000 talented engineers, scientists, and support staff. We now have an excellent opportunity for a passionate HR Advisor to join us in Warrington, Reading, or Bristol.
This role supports a larger HR team based in Stantec offices throughout the UK.
You will play an important role within the team, overseeing our business lines. Your responsibilities will include providing generalist HR support to managers and employees, offering accurate and timely employee relations advice, and managing recruitment, onboarding, inductions, performance management, and learning programs to achieve business goals.
You will be the first point of contact for all employee relations queries, advising employees and managers on HR matters. You will lead on employee relations issues such as performance management, disciplinaries, and grievances under the guidance of the HRBP.
An important part of your role will be liaising with HR colleagues and other departments in the UK and globally on matters related to new hire setup, HR data, approvals, validation, and compliance, while continuously seeking improved ways of working and providing insights and feedback to the wider team.
This presents a fantastic opportunity to work with our established HR team within an internationally listed professional services organization with strong ambitions to grow our UK & Ireland operations.
About You
Ideally, you will be qualified with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources Management, Business, Social Sciences, or a related discipline, and have previous HR advisory experience in a fast-paced, changing environment where results focus is essential. A CIPD level 5 qualification is preferred, but CIPD level 3 may be considered if experience is demonstrable.
You will have experience partnering with managers and employees, with skills to influence and challenge appropriately. You will be able to organize, plan, prioritize, and manage time and competing priorities effectively. Experience interpreting analysis and metrics to identify trends or issues, and the ability to communicate insights clearly, is important.
You should have a good command of English and strong interpersonal communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, intermediate Excel) is required, with familiarity with Oracle or ITrent being an advantage. Good numerical and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential. Your problem-solving skills will be valuable, as will your ability to influence business leaders and establish credibility.
Most importantly, your passion for working in a busy HR advisory role within a collaborative HR team across the UK will be key to your success.
Note: We offer hybrid working options, with an expectation of attending the office 3 days per week. For our Warrington office, the successful candidate will likely need to be able to drive to the office due to its location.
