Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join the NHS Supply Chain contract in Bury St. Edmunds.

Working on-site, you will partner with managers to provide expert Employee Relations support, ensuring HR policies are applied consistently and compliantly while helping to create a positive employee experience. You will manage ER cases, support absence management, deliver people-focused initiatives, use data to identify trends and drive improvements across the site.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 3 qualification and fast-paced environment experience.
• Experience coaching managers on HR policies and employment law.
• Experience managing high volumes of Employee Relations cases.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities with data use.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied Employee Relations caseload (disciplinary, grievance, absence, flexible working).
• Coach managers on HR policies, employment law, and case management.
• Monitor absence trends with Occupational Health to improve attendance and wellbeing.

Job description

Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment? Do you enjoy coaching managers through complex employee relations matters and driving positive workplace outcomes? Are you passionate about improving employee experience, engagement, and people processes?

Here at GXO, we’re looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our NHS Supply Chain contract in Bury St. Edmunds. Working on-site, you’ll partner with managers to provide expert Employee Relations (ER) support, ensuring HR policies are applied consistently and compliantly while helping to create a positive employee experience.

You’ll play a key role in managing ER cases, supporting absence management, delivering people-focused initiatives, using data to identify trends and drive improvements across the site.

This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00 or 09:00 till 17:00.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £30,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Manage a varied Employee Relations caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and flexible working cases
• Coach and support managers on HR policies, employment law, and best practice case management
• Monitor absence trends and work with managers and Occupational Health to improve attendance and wellbeing outcomes
• Support recruitment, onboarding, contract changes, and wider HR administration activities
• Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, training programmes, and continuous improvement of HR processes

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• CIPD Level 3 qualified, with experience in a fast-paced operational environment and a proactive, customer-focused approach
• Strong organisational and analytical skills, with good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including experience working with stakeholders and Trade Unions
• Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice, with the confidence to advise managers at all levels
• Experience managing high volumes of Employee Relations cases
