About The Role

Team –HR Business Partners

Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in either the Vitality Stockport or Bournemouth Offices. Part-time, 21 hours per week.

What this role is all about:

The purpose of the HR Advisor is to provide comprehensive HR advice, support and coaching to managers and employees on all aspects of the employee life cycle. HR Advisers work closely with HR Business Partners, the HR Operations team, and other parts of the people team and build strong relationships with business stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor on all people matters.

Be an ambassador for the People team and the Company Values at all times. The HR Adviser will primarily support an aligned area of the business but will be required to work flexibly across Vitality in line with business needs.

Key Actions

1. Be the first point of contact for advice and coaching for managers on the implementation of all aspects of the HR lifecycle, ensuring queries are resolved and guidance is given in line with our policies, processes, best practice employment law and Vitality’s values.
2. Guide, advise and support managers on individual employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary, capability, grievance and flexible working cases, attending formal meetings where appropriate and escalating higher risk or complex cases as appropriate to the HR Business Partner.
3. Work closely with the HR Business Partner to prepare materials and responses for employment tribunal cases, working alongside our legal advisers as needed.
4. Support the HR Business Partner with key BAU people processes and activities, such as annual salary review, bonus calibration and implementation, interim increase process and annual benefits renewal.
5. Be a point of escalation for the HR Operations team so that complex or challenging queries are resolved satisfactorily and without delay.
6. Assist in the delivery of all change management initiatives necessary to support the transformation and growth of our organisation.
7. Build effective and trusted working relationships with people managers in their aligned area of support.
8. Develop employee policies and guidance as required and identify opportunities for continuously improving our policies, processes and guidance.
9. Promote diversity and inclusion initiatives in their aligned area of the business and highlight any issues as appropriate.
10. Support the HR Business Partner with the production of people data analysis packs to share with stakeholders.
11. Undertake wider people team projects as and when required.

What do you need to thrive?

1. CIPD qualified or experienced to similar level.
2. Excellent stakeholder management experience.
3. Experience in a fast growth environment.
4. Excellent communication skills and ability to influence front line managers.
5. Strong written communication skills (letter/report writing ability).
6. Intermediate Excel skills.
7. Experience working in a Financial Services regulated environment would be advantageous.
